Downtown Alley Alive
A First Friday Art Walk Experience
Join ODIDA for Downtown Alley Alive, a free and open to the public, all ages pilot alley activation event in the Old Market. On Friday, May 1, 2026 from 5 to 9 PM, the 11th Street alley between Howard & Jackson will come alive with live music, live art, and food and drink offers as part of First Friday Art Walk.
This event is designed to highlight how downtown alleys can be used as active, welcoming public spaces. Guests are encouraged to explore the alley, enjoy the evening atmosphere, and make a night of it by visiting Old Market galleries before or after the event.

Why this event matters
Downtown Alley Alive is a pilot event created to show how Old Market alleys can support art, music, gathering, and placemaking. By activating this space, ODIDA hopes to demonstrate how alleys can add to the downtown experience in new and creative ways.
