Downtown Cleanup Days are a hands-on way to support the work happening every day through the Downtown Omaha Improvement District’s Clean and Green program. From April through September 2026, we are inviting the community to join us once a month to make a visible impact together.
In just one hour, you can help care for the streets, sidewalks, and public spaces that make Downtown Omaha a place people want to live, work, and visit.
Why Downtown Cleanup Matters
- ODIDA maintains over 75+ blocks of Downtown year-round
- Clean spaces support local businesses, events, and tourism
- Small efforts from many people create lasting change
Our Clean and Green Team works daily to keep Downtown looking its best. Downtown Cleanup Days give the community a chance to be part of that effort and see the impact firsthand.
How to Participate
You do not need experience or special skills. No registration required. Just show up and join in. Everyone is welcome including youth. Youth does need adult supervision.
Show up -> Grab supplies -> Spend one hour making a difference
Whether you live downtown, work nearby, or just enjoy spending time here, this is an easy way to give back to a place you care about.
What to expect that day:
- Supplies provided including gloves, trash bags, and tools
- Quick check-in and waiver (if needed) at the start
- Volunteers grouped and sent to nearby streets and priority areas
You will see immediate results from your effort.
Service Hours: Need volunteer hours? We can sign off after the cleanup.
Volunteer Waiver Information
All participants are required to complete a Keep Omaha Beautiful volunteer waiver once per year.
You can complete the waiver online before attending your first cleanup:

Waivers will also be available at check-in.
Partner Support
This program is supported by Keep Omaha Beautiful, providing supplies and helping make each cleanup safe and effective.
If these dates do not work for you, you can also organize your own neighborhood cleanup through Keep Omaha Beautiful Here.
Track Our Impact
We will track and share results from each cleanup throughout the season.
Together, we can show the impact of community pride in action.
