Meet the ODIDA Clean & Green Team
The Omaha Downtown Improvement District (ODIDA) staff works every day to keep downtown clean, green, safe, and active. From beautifying public spaces to supporting events, assisting visitors, and enhancing safety, our team is dedicated to making downtown Omaha a vibrant place for everyone.
Mike Schon
Maintance Supervisor & Groundskeeper
Mike helps maintain public spaces, supporting the team with power washing, snow removal, and alley care. He has been part of ODIDA since 2019.
Robert Opfel
Groundskeeper
Robert supports the Clean Team with litter removal, green space upkeep, and seasonal projects. In addition to his staff role, he serves on the ODIDA Board of Directors as a resident and downtown advocate. He joined ODIDA in June 2024.
Mark Christensen
Groundskeeper
Mark provides year-round maintenance to ensure downtown looks its best in every season. As ODIDA’s longest-serving employee, he has been with the team since 2011.
David Steele
Groundskeeper
David focuses on keeping sidewalks, curbs, and public spaces clean and welcoming for all who live, work, and visit downtown. He joined ODIDA in June 2024.

Bohemian Photoworks
Visual Media Partner
Joe donated many of the photos and drone footage featured on this website, highlighting Downtown Omaha’s projects, streetscapes, and public spaces.
Joe is the owner of Bohemian Photoworks, a visual arts studio specializing in photography, videography, and documentary film. Before moving to Omaha, he served in the Senior Executive Service at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and taught at the Washington (DC) School of Photography. He is a Master Photographer, Master Craftsman, and Certified Professional Photographer through PPA, an award‑winning artist whose work has been exhibited in Washington, DC and Omaha, and an adjunct professor of photography at Bellevue University.
He is also ODIDA’s current Vice President and active board member being very instrumental in some district projects including the Utility Box Art Wraps and 2025 Reimage Omaha forum featuring his documentary Car-Centric.
