Downtown Omaha information is now easier to find, share, and use at omahadowntown.org.
ODIDA’s new website is built to be Downtown Omaha’s go to hub for what’s happening, what’s being built, and how to find help fast. It brings events, resources, projects, and district updates into one clear, visual experience.
About the Downtown Omaha Information Hub
ODIDA launched a refreshed omahadowntown.org to make Downtown information easier to find and easier to share. The new layout organizes our work into clear sections like Our Impact, Downtown Happenings, Resources, Get Involved, and District News.
This update also puts practical tools closer to the front door of the site, so visitors and stakeholders can take action quickly.
What’s New on the Website
Downtown Happenings in one place. The Downtown Happenings hub pulls together the Events Calendar, Explore Attractions, Downtown Projects, and Art in Downtown, so people can plan a visit or stay in the loop without clicking around. It also includes a simple way to submit an event for the calendar.
A clearer view of what’s being built. The Downtown Projects page now pairs an interactive map with project cards that highlight location, timeline, and community benefits. It is designed to help people quickly understand what’s underway and what’s been completed.
An upgraded Attractions experience. Explore Attractions is organized for easy browsing, including area districts and major destinations, with short descriptions and key details.
Resources, split by audience. The Resources section is now separated into Stakeholder Resources and Visitor Resources. Stakeholder Resources focuses on tools, contacts, and guidance for people who own, work, or live Downtown. Visitor Resources focuses on maps, parking, getting around, and trip planning basics.
Fast access to reporting and help. The homepage features quick pathways for issues that impact quality of life, including streetlight reporting through OPPD’s interactive map, plus links to Unhoused Resources and Board Meetings.
A better snapshot of how to get around. The homepage includes a “transit snapshot” with direct pathways to Metro and ORBT info, scooters and bike share, and streetcar updates.
More consistent district updates. District News is structured for newsletters, press releases and announcements, and a “Downtown in the News” section that links to outside coverage.
Why It Matters
Downtown moves fast. People need reliable information that is current, easy to scan, and simple to act on. This website is designed to help residents, businesses, property owners, and visitors all find what they need in fewer clicks, with clearer pathways to the right tools.
It also helps ODIDA share our work more transparently, from project updates to board information and resources that support a clean, green, safe, and active Downtown.
What’s Next
ODIDA will keep refining the site based on real use. We will keep adding new project spotlights, expanding the events calendar, and updating resources as partners and systems change.
