It has been a very busy season for the Omaha Downtown Improvement District this past year. We wanted to share with you a few of the highlights!
Green and Clean updates
- Doubled our team
- Added full-time Gardener Colin in May & full-time Groundskeeper Mike in November
- Jake has been on for a year as Maintenance Supervisor
- Mark has been with us since 2012
- Rebranded our team and equipment
- 9 new dog waste stations throughout Downtown
- New equipment: Pro-Vac street vacuum, power washer, 2 new utility vehicles, and a snow blower
- Purchased 20 new cigarette towers
- Perennials were purchased this year to maintain beautification all-year round
- 7 new trees planted in the Old Market
Other Updates
- Participated in Omaha Gives! raising about $800
- Rebranded and added 6 new Downtown Ambassadors
- ODID was featured on the front page of Omaha World-Herald in April
- Chaired the Old Market Fall Festival Committee with 15,000 in attendance this year
- Increased our Holiday Lights fixtures within The Old Market
- Expanded our Security presence during weekdays and doubling on weekends
We look forward to all the changes 2019 brings to Downtown Omaha and we are proud to be apart of it.
