Position Summary
The Omaha Downtown Improvement District (ODID) mission is to support, preserve, create and enhance a clean, green, and safe active, competitive, and thriving Downtown Omaha that attracts and retains businesses, employees, residents, and visitors.
The vision of the ODID is to create a more inviting and attractive Downtown region for residents, businesses, property owners, visitors, and investors by developing projects that reflect the needs and desires of the district. Improvement activities include beautification and litter removal, economic development programs, safety and security enhancements, advocacy, and activation.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable groundskeeper to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our Downtown Omaha. A successful candidate will be responsible for routine ground maintenance duties including but not limited to litter collection, sweeping, washing, weed/leaf removal, and manual labor tasks. When not performing primary tasks, the employee will assist with general duties as assigned by the DID Team Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring that our Downtown always looks its best.

Duties and Responsibilities (A position may not be assigned all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be assigned)
- Collects and disposes of garbage, litter, and graffiti to maintain a clean and attractive environment.
- Assists with the removal of furniture, equipment, materials, and supplies as needed.
- Maintains the appearance of planters, grounds, and surrounding areas through watering, weeding, raking, and debris removal.
- Operates and maintains machinery, equipment, and tools required to perform duties effectively and efficiently.
- Supports skilled maintenance technicians in various repair, maintenance, and landscaping tasks.
- Respond promptly to any maintenance requests and issues that arise.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Required (These may be acquired on the job and are needed to perform the work assigned)

High school diploma or equivalent

Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in adverse weather conditions.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be dependable, self-motivated to accomplish goals and tasks while managing time effectively.

Friendly, as you are an Ambassador to the public.

Valid Driver’s License required.
Hours, Compensation and Other Details
-
Tuesday through Saturday from 7am to 3pm
-
$31,000 depending on qualifications, plus a $4,000 stipend for health care expenses

May have to work some Holidays.
