Job Description – Full-Time Groundskeeper
Position Title: Full-Time Groundskeeper
Reports To: Colin Wynn, DID Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable groundskeeper to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our Downtown Omaha. A successful candidate will be responsible for routine grounds maintenance duties including but not limited to litter collection, sweeping, washing, weed/leaf removal, and manual labor tasks. When not performing primary tasks, the employee will assist with general duties as assigned by the DID Maintenance Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring that our Downtown looks its best at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects and disposes of garbage, litter, and graffiti to maintain a clean and attractive environment.
- Clears sidewalks, streets, and grounds of debris and ice to ensure safe conditions for pedestrians and vehicles.
- Assists with the removal of furniture, equipment, materials, and supplies as needed.
- Maintains the appearance of planters, grounds, and surrounding areas through watering, weeding, raking, and debris removal.
- Operates and maintains machinery, equipment, and tools required to perform duties effectively and efficiently.
- Supports skilled maintenance technicians in various repair, maintenance, and landscaping tasks.
- Respond promptly to any maintenance requests and issues that arise.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be dependable, self-motivated to accomplish goals and tasks while managing time effectively.
- Friendly, as you are an Ambassador to the public.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
Hours, Compensation and Other Details
- Thursday through Mondays from 7am to 3pm
- $30,000 depending on qualifications, includes a $4,000 stipend for health care expenses
- May have to work some Holidays.
- Holiday pay
- 17 paid time off days per year
